I was thinking about this today, as it’s one of those gaming moments that has been embedded in my mind since the first time I saw it.  There aren’t many cooler game characters around than Thane Krios and in Mass Effect 2 he was the only relationship that felt right for Femshep (other than Liara).  I know a lot of people are Garrus fans and I get that, but to me Garrus felt more like the best friend.  It was as though he’d never considered Shep an option until you mention it and has the reaction of ‘hehehe human parts, that’ll be funny’

Thane feels so real, like he’d love with all he was made of and give his soul for his Siha.  I feel like Bioware were overwhelmed with the response towards the Garrus relationship that they forgot that not everyone felt that way and would have liked to see Thane get some more screen time in ME3.  Even if not as a romantic partner just as a very cool character in general.

***SPOILERS****

I get that Thane didn’t care for his life, that he felt that he deserved to die after the life that he’d led but with the files in the shadow broker I don’t understand why it never came up in conversation.  Why after reading those did Shep never say to Thane ‘hey why not get a transplant’ and at least give me the satisfaction of playing through the dialogue.  It makes me feel like in the end he didn’t care that much about her and that is in such contrast with Mass Effect 2… It felt like a pointless death.  I love a good dramatic tragedy but it had too many holes.  I know a lot of people were unhappy with Mass Effect 3 and the endings but none of that mattered nearly as much to me as how they killed off Thane.

I can’t even imagine how the Jacob shippers feel… ‘naww bitch, we weren’t going no where I’ve got a new lady now’
